Like many kids, I got my first taste of woodturning in school. At thirteen, I finally had my chance to create something—a wooden bowl. It wasn’t perfect; I had to reattach it to the lathe, which left it a little off-center. But that didn’t matter—I was hooked. My school projects were limited, but I got lucky: the joiner’s shop at the company where my father worked had a lathe. One summer, they needed 2,000 rope ladder rungs, and I landed the job. That became my first official commission.
From there, I spent weekends in that workshop, crafting bowls, candlesticks, and other creations. As time went on, I moved into my own home, complete with a garage where I could set up a lathe. I even restored the old lathe from the workshop, converting it to run on domestic electricity. Now, decades later, my garage has become a fully equipped workshop, and woodturning has been a passion of mine for over 40 years.
Today, I take on commissions for almost anything that fits on the lathe. While I don’t keep timber in stock—thanks to the sheer variety of projects—I can connect you with trusted suppliers. Whether you need trophy bases, stair parts, bowls, or decorative finials, I’m here to help you bring your vision to life.
